69 Chevy FLEETSIDE
Pro Street Truck!!!!!
This is a 1/64 scale casting.
VERY UNIQUE!!! TRUE ONE OF A KIND!!!!
No Kidding!! The pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they do not do this Hot Rod justice!!
The most obvious addition is of course the FLEETSIDE Bed!!! It was
slvaged from a Chevy Pro Stock truck. Body lines were a close match,
but, the width of the bed was wider than the 69's cab, so, I cut a
slit down the center top of the bed cover and carefully squeezed it
inward until I got it close to the same width at the front so it would
match the cab. This worked out fine and lso left the rear of the bed
slightly wider, so, it has a very natural looking taper from cab to
rear!!! I also grooved the part between the spoiler and bed in order
to give the spoiler a little angle upwards!! The two parts were melded
together with Marine Epoxy for a rock hard and secure bond and I filled
the slit cut through the top of the bed cover as well!!
Next, the top needed a little help, so, I CHOPPED IT!!!!
It was reatached, sanded smooth, and then the glass was recut to fit
the smaller new openings. The front glass was very carefully (and
tediously) cut down to near size and then shaved as needed with an
exacto knife so that it now fits INSIDE the new window frame opening!!!
VERY CLOSE FIT!!!
The rear glass was attached to the interior section after it was resized
and looks very natural as well!!!!
The entire stance of the truck was reworked as well, which required
a lot of precision removal of parts of the interior and base to get
the very aggresive look of "nose to the ground" with the
back end kicked up just enogh for the new wheelie bars to clear!!!!
The new Deep Dish wheels (w/RUBBER tires!!) were narrowed and tubed
to fit and the base was cut out accordingly to allow them to roll
perfectly and sit INSIDE the fenders!!!!
Also during this part of the build, I cut the hole in the hood and
installed the BLOWER from a Fiat 500!! This also added to the difficulty
of making the truck go back together properly, requiring still more
modifications to the base and interior so that a proper fit could
be achieved. When it fit correctly, I epoxied the blower to the interior
section!!!!!!!
All in all, this truck took an extensive amount of work to achieve
the body mods, but, turned out VERY VERY NICE!!!!

The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG
and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE and Alclad Chrome Lacquer paint.
It started with a Acrylic Urethane JET BLACK base color, then it was
shot with the Alclad Chrome for the base color of the flames!!!
THEN... THREE SEPERATE FADES of Candy Pagan Gold to Brandywine Red
were done at the nose and sides, roof, and bed cover
Finally, Clear was shot on in FIVE coats making the finish
WAY SMOOTH!!!! This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe
what your eyes would actually see in person!!!
NO KIDDING...... The Flames Absolutely GLOW against the Jet Black
main color!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Truck was VERY tricky and
quite time consuming to do, but, the end result is
WAY
BEYOND
AAAWESOME!!!!
The final touches included MAJOR details!!!
Grill, grill opening, door handles, and Window TRIM done with Alclad
Chrome Lacquer!!!! PLUS.......the base got some Chrome treatment to
the driveline and exhaust!!!!!!
