VW DRAG BUS!!!!
This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they ABSOLUTELY do not do this KILLER
piece justice!!

This
Bus has got it ALL!!!!!!
Redesigned rear spoiler, enclosed rear section, lowered, Candy Blue
MetalFlake top, ChromaLusion sides and Flames, AND THEN...
THERE IS THE CHASSIS!!!!!!!!!!!

The Chassis has been MAJORLY WORKED!!!!!!
Features a FULLY PLUMBED and WIRED engine!!!!
Wires are 28 gauge Bead Wire and have been
epoxied in place on the inside of the engine block!!!
The Fuel AND NOS lines are .025" Stainless Steel Tubing and
were hand bent to fit into holes drilled into the carbs and the
base, then epoxied in place!!!!!

The transmission gap has been filled and the original lines continued,
PLUS, I also filled up AND reshaped the rear of the blower as removing
it from the original attached wing left a large gap!!!!!!
The cockpit is from a Johnny Lightning Funny Car Legends!!!
The rear chute has been smoothed and reworked and mated with the
bottom edge of the body as a support to keep the body raised just
enough for the DRILLED Side Exhaust to show!!!!
The wheels are from a HWs Hot Tuners series for the rears and a
Muscle Machine Import Tuners series!! I removed the original axles
and used a SOLID axle instead!! These are tubed with a Stainless
steel sleeves and JB Welded to the base plus they were LOWERED
AND LEVELED!!!!!
A LOT OF WORK Went Into This Chassis...even more than I have
mentioned, but after it was together, smoothed out and rolled well,
I removed the wheels and all parts were shot with adhesion promoter,
primed with Urethane High Gloss Black
and finally FULLY CHROMED with Alclad Lacquer!!!!!!!
Then TONS of details were done in Black,
Candy Red and Candy Cobalt Blue!!!!!!!
NOW....FOR THE BODY!!!!!!!!
The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG
and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint, plus, Alclad Chrome lacquer.
And I want to emphasize AGAIN that these pics do
ABSOLUTELY NO JUSTICE to the way this
KILLER Color Changing paint REALLY LOOKS!!!!!!
After a lot of sanding and priming to smooth out the rear wing and
filled panel, I started with a super smooth Urethane BLACK base
color, Then Alclad Chrome was applied over the top, followed with
some large METALFLAKE!!! 8 Coats of Candy Grandeur Blue was then
shot over the top
and the center of the nose!!!!!
CHROMALUSION Red to Blue was then applied to the sides and rear,
and slightly over the front, but, leaving most of the candy blue
intact
in the center of the nose!!!
I also DUSTED a very light coat of the ChromaLusion over the candy
top!!!
THIS makes for a SPECTACULAR Sparkle and slight color change as
well!!!
Then to finish off the look....
I added ChromaLusion Gold to Magenta FLAMES!!!!!
A few licks of Traditionals over the top and some
TRIBALS on the sides!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, Clear was shot on in FOUR coats making the finish WAY SMOOTH!!!!
This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe what your
eyes actually see in person!!!
NO KIDDING...... The COLORS and the SPARKLES ARE FANTASTIC!!!
Pics just dont do it justice AT ALL!!!!!!
