This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they ABSOLUTELY
do not do this paint justice!!
The
casting was stripped, sanded and polished slightly before any paint
was done.
The Rear Fenders were "relieved" of the closed skirts
look by carefully measuring and grinding the new openings!!!! And
also some material had to be ground away on the inside fenders front
and rear to let those NICE Rubber Tires and Chrome DEEP DISH Mags
roll freely, plus, they give this
classic a KILLER New look!!!!!
The
Preferred Series Mags had to be tubed in order to attain the correct
axle length to be tucked up inside the fenders and although
it is not nearly as obvious, I
carefully "shaved" and notched parts off the base and
the interior section in order to get it to set LEVEL and ROLL GREAT!!!!!!!!
The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG
and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint.
PLUS!!! The Main Ingredient for Black Chrome....
Alclad Chrome Lacquer!!!!
It started with a PEARL BLACK URETHANE base color on both the body
and fender sections which as you may know are separate parts for
this casting. Alclad Chrome lacquer was used for the flames then
a DOUBLE COLOR CANDY FADE of Tangerine and Purple was applied to
the body section ONLY!!! The sides are Tangerine while the top is
faded to Purple!!! The Fender section was done in Candy Purple Only!!!!
This process was REPEATED THREE TIMES for a Deep Color and a Killer
Layered Flame Effect!!!!!
And not stopping there, I also added a set of CHROMALUSION Flames
on JUST the fenders section!!!!
2 part Urethane Clear was finally applied in three coats for ultimate
shine and protection!!!
This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe what your
eyes actually see in person!!!
The Candy Colors will absolutely GLOW and the flames will show the
separation of the Multiple Layers with different angles of view!!!! Not to mention the Color Changin' Chroma Flames!!!!!!
IF you have seen one of my kustoms in person before,
then, you know what I mean!!!!
If not, BELIEVE ME.....IT IS KILLER!!!
Features detailed exhaust tips and two color tail lights, Head lights
and door handles were done with the Alclad Chrome!!!!!!!
