Shelby COBRA!!!!

This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they do not do this Hot Rod justice!!

The casting was stripped, sanded and polished slightly before any Mods or paint was done.
For starters....the hood was removed!!! Then the engine compartment was enlarged with a lot careful dremeling and filing to smooth it up!!
Then the engine donated by an Altered States was tested for fit...when it fit ok, I drill a hole in the base to secure the powerplant with a machine screw!!!
I also added near true to scale plug wires!! Holes were drilled in the heads and one carefully drill at the rear of the engine...28 gauge red wire was placed in the holes and a drop of JB Weld was utilized to hold them in place AND make some pretty realistic Plug Wire BOOTS!!!
Still not done with the engine....I drilled and dremeled out the blower scoop and polished the outside....and machined a little of the front engine parts to resemble pulleys and Finally added a RUBBER BLOWER BELT!!!!!!
!!!!

The Wheels and "Meats n Skinnies" White letter tires are from a Racing Champions Car!! I used a Stainless Steel tube sleeve over the solid axles and JB Weld was used to secure them to the base and they were also leveled so all the wheels contact the surface at the same time!!!!
I had to make SEVERAL grinds and other modifications to the inner fenders, interior, and the base to get these tires to roll and not drag the ground in the front.....BUT.....These ROLL GREAT now!!!!!!!!!

The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint, PLUS, Alclad Chrome Lacquer.

It started with a Ultra Smooth Urethane PEARL BLACK base color, Then I installed a set of my flamemasks on the sides, then began some Alclad Chrome Lacquer Flames topped with a FADE of Candy Grandeur BLUE to Candy COBALT BLUE to Candy PURPLE!!!!! I then repeated this process for a total of TWO LAYERS of Candy Flamage!!!!!!! The flamemasks were removed leaving a kool contrast flame effect on the sides!!! Finally, Clear was shot on in three coats making the finish WAY SMOOTH!!!! This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe what your eyes actually see in person!!!
NO KIDDING...... The Flames WILL just GLOW!!!! And disappear into the Dark and BEAUTIFUL near SpectraFlame Colors!!!!

The Base was primed with Plastic Adhesion Promoter, shot with Jet Black Urethane, except the sidepipes and grill which were masked off and are the original finish. I did this to match the engine color tone. I wanted to leave this "not so shiny" for more of a "weekend racer of the 60s" look!!!

I also primed the interior with adhesion promoter, shot with Urethane Black, and finally Alclad Chrome was applied!!! I then detailed some gauges, shifter boot, seat belts, AND finally added a Jada Steering wheel!!!!!!

Details also added to the head lights, tail lights, grill opening, gad cap, and ALL 12 Hardtop "rivets" behind the interior with Alclad chrome!!!!!
