TAIL DRAGGER!!!!
This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they ABSOLUTELY
do not do this paint justice!!
The
casting was stripped, sanded and polished slightly before any paint
was done.
I wanted the nice white walls to show a little more, so, I opened
up the rear fender wells!!
Those Fender Skirts just had to go!!
Both sides were carefully matched up and after the grinding was
done, all edges were filed and sanded smooth!!!!!
And I thought this one needed some CLASSY Rollers....so....a Jada
RoadRats Caddy was kind enough to donate its Rubber Wide White Wall
tires and NICE Chrome Baby Moon wheels!!!!! The solid axles required
a lottle shortening, and were ran through sections of Stainless
Steel tubing, these stainless "sleeves" were then epoxied
in place on the Chassis and carefully leveled so that all four wheels
contact the surface at the same time!!! A few alterations were also
done to the interior and base for these wheels to fit at a very
low level!! They roll EXTREMELY WELL and look even better with the
Classy White Walls showing in the opened fenders!!!

The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG
and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint.
PLUS!!! Alclad Lacquers!!!!
It started with a BLACK URETHANE base color, then I added a few
flames with Alclad Chrome and two coats of Candy Grandeur BLUE to
Candy Cobalt Blue, to Candy Purple was FADED over them!!!! Once
this coat was dry, the process was repeated TWO MORE TIMES!!!
WAY KOOL very near SpectraFlame FADE and LOTS OF FLAMES!!!!!!!!!
Finally, Clear was shot on in three coats making the finish VERY
SMOOTH!!!! This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe
what your eyes actually see in person!!!
NO KIDDING...... A lot of the Flames are Ghosty, and the rest will
GLOW in some lights and angles of view!!!!!!!!!!!

The base was primed with adhesion promoter, given an ultra smooth
Urethane Black base and everything was hit with Alclad Chrome...except...the
grill which was polished slightly and nasked off prior to the
paint. This makes for a very nice contrast to the alclad chrome
finish of the rest of the chassis!!!
Then I Detailed the exhaust tips in black!!!
The tail lights and head lights were painted in with Alclad Chrome
and some Candy red finished the tail lights up!!!!
