This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they ABSOLUTELY
do not do this paint justice!!
The
casting was stripped, sanded and polished slightly before any paint
was done.
I started this one with a exposed Blown Engine in the hood!!! A
space was ground away for the carefully modified and trimmed Rigor
Motor engine and once it fit well, the edges filed smooth!!! Then
in order to have proper fit, the upper portion of the casting post
was removed from the inside!! The windshield and interior were both
carefully notched in such a way as to give the right clearance,
and also give the engine a tight fit without glue!!!!
Now for the Rollers, I chose a combination of Muscle Machine Fatties
for the rear and HWs Preferred Series Deep Dish Mags for the front!!!!!
The
rears required HEAVY Modifications to the interior and base, plus,
the axles had to be tubed in order to achieve the right axle length
and tire clearance, riding at a very low level!! The tires have
JUST enough clearance to turn!! They roll well and look even better!!!
However, the rears do have a very slight hang up on occasion.
The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my
kustoms) PPG and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint.
PLUS!!! Alclad Lacquers!!!!
It started with a PEARL BLACK URETHANE base color, then I added
two coats of CANDY Pagan Gold FADED to Candy Ruby Red!! TRIBAL flames
in Alclad Chrome were then added after the candy was dry!!!! Once
this coat was dry, the Candy FADE was repeated THREE MORE TIMES!!!
This makes for a VERY Subtle, WAY KOOL FADE with some pretty ghosty
Tribal Flames!!!!!!!!!
Finally, Clear was shot on in three coats making the finish VERY
SMOOTH!!!! This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe
what your eyes actually see in person!!!
NO KIDDING...... A lot of the Flames are Ghosty, and they will also
GLOW in some lights and angles of view!!!!!!!!!!!
I also Detailed the exhaust tips, headlights,
tail lights, park lights, grill, with Alclad Chrome and added
some Candy Red on the tail lights!!!!!
