This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they ABSOLUTELY do not do this paint justice!!

The casting was stripped, sanded and polished slightly before any paint was done.

You know.......I have ripped apart so many Dub City castings for the killer wheels to use on other kustoms that I thought it was about time to give one of Jada's Very Nice Castings a little "trip to my Candy Factory"!!!!!
And I love this 53 Caddy casting, but the top had to go!!!!!
I carefully ground and filed the remaining windshield frame down to a near scale thickness along with the "glass" being cut and beveled with a sharp exacto blade to get a nice fit!!! Then a ragtop "boot" cover was formed and shaped from scratch out of JB Weld!!!!!!
Of course....the wheels are DUBS!!!!!!





The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint.
PLUS!!! Alclad Chrome Lacquer!!!!


It started with a BLACK URETHANE base color.
Alclad Chrome lacquer was applied over the entire body, then 6 coats of CANDY PURPLE was applied!!!
When this was dry, TWO layers of interlacing flames were done with ChromaLusion Gold to Magenta COLOR SHIFT paint!!!!
2 part Urethane Clear was finally applied in three coats for ultimate shine and protection!!!
This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe what your eyes actually see in person!!!
The Candy Purple is VERY NEAR SpectraFlame and the ChromaLusion flames will be gold at one angle, but, a slight change in light or angle will cause them to go Tangerine or bronze, or just "MELT" into the Candy when shift is to a shade of Magenta!!!! At that point, they are VERY GHOSTY!!!





Features detailed black and white interior!!! Ragtop boot done with white HOK striping Urethane!! The two color tail lights, side trim, and Head lights were done with Alclad Chrome!!!!!!!
