This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they ABSOLUTELY
do not do this paint justice!!
The
casting was stripped, sanded and polished slightly before any paint
was done.
No Major body mods on this one, but, the Muscle Machine REAR MEATS
took A LOT of Alterations to the inside of the body, interior, and
base!!! I also removed the original axle and replaced it with a
solid steel rod, then, "sleeved" this axle with a stainless
steel tube so it rolles VERY Freely!! For the fronts, I chose Dub
City 5 spokes!!
I lowered it and left its stance just high enough to give this Dairy
some ATTITUDE!!
The tires have JUST enough clearance to turn!! They roll great and
look even better!!!
The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG
and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint.
PLUS!!! Alclad Lacquers!!!!
It started with a PEARL BLACK URETHANE base color, then I started
airbrushing the lightning bolts on with a purple tinted white mixture!!!!
Then I retraced the bolts with PEARL PURPLE and faded the purple
over the front half of the body, leaving the rear black!!! Once
this was dry, I added a little more purple to the tinted white mixture
and retraced the bolts again!!! Finally, I faded the nose into the
start of the bolts then used a 10/0 brush with pure white to make
the final trace of the bolts and added a few smaller bolts here
and there as well!!!!!!
Finally, Clear was shot on in three coats making the finish VERY
SMOOTH!!!!
This is the VERY FIRST time I have done this Lightning Effect
on a Hot Wheel and it turned out GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
I also Detailed the exhaust tips (black), headlights, park lights
(with Pearl Amber as well!!), grill, with Alclad Chrome and added
some Candy Red on the tail lights!!!!!
