This is a 1/64 scale casting.
These pics are pretty good, but, I can't stress this enough,
they ABSOLUTELY
do not do this paint justice!!
The
casting was stripped, sanded and polished slightly before any paint
was done.
No Body Mods on this one!! I think personally that Boyd and HWs
did a prety good job on her!!! But, the paint is another thing!!
LOL!!
This casting is so cool because of the way it opens up!!
The hood AND body lift in opposite directions to expose a highly
detailed modern chassis, engine, trans, and driver compartment!!!
The body will actually lift completely off, while
the hood is attached to the front via the axle!!!
Wheels are Smoothies with 'star' spinners and also sport Rubber
Tires!!!!!
The paint is ALL AIRBRUSHED (as with all my kustoms) PPG
and House Of Color AUTOMOTIVE paint.
PLUS!!! Alclad Chrome Lacquer!!!!
It started with a BLACK BERRY faded to BLACK CHERRY Urethane base
color, then flames were added with Alclad Chrome!!!! Then, the Candy
FADE was done THREE COLORS!!! Starting with Candy Cherry Red, to
Candy Purple, to Candy Grandeur Blue!!!!!!!!! Once this coat was
dry, the Alclad Flames were repeated One MORE time and followed
with additional Candy FADE after the flame pattern!!!!!!
The bottom was painted Jet Black which adds a nice contrast to the
sparkly body colors!!
Finally, Clear was shot on in three coats making the finish WAY
SMOOTH!!!! This is SO INCREDIBLY KOOL that words fail to describe
what your eyes actually see in person!!!
NO KIDDING...... The Flames are VERY DEEP, Ghosty, and "glowing"
CANDY and the Black Berry/Cherry has just a hint of blue and red
in some lights, but otherwise, is very dark!!!!!!!
I also masked off and Detailed the Grill frame with Alclad Chrome
and blacked out the center, then added some Candy blue accents
on the chassis!!!!!
